Age-associated changes in a biochemical process that helps control genes may be responsible for some of the increased risk of cancer seen in older people. It is a common known fact that age is a leading risk factor for the development of various types of cancer, but ,the very reason, remains a mystery. Binding of chemical tags, also known as methyl tags, may be one reason. These activate or silence genes, by affecting interations between DNA and the cell's protein making machinery. But, again, cancer incidence has been seen among the youth as well, particularly oral and breast cancer. Now, while oral cancer has been linked directly to the consumption of tobacco, breast cancer, does not seem to have its origins, particularly from some bad habit. Prevention of tobacco-related and cervical cancers and earlier detection of treatable cancers would reduce cancer deaths in India, particularly in the rural areas that are underserved by cancer services. The substantial variation in cancer rates in India suggests other risk factors or causative agents that remain to be discovered. But, then again, there is the incidence of lung cancer, which may be caused, due to exposure to certain toxic chemicals. Often people, who work in factories, where there might be a high risk of over-exposure to dangerous chemicals like arsenic, nickel-refinery,asbestos, etc. It is true that smoking does cause lung cancer, but we must never ignore the dangers posed by poisonous chemicals. In our country, cancer is the most common cause of death, around 2.5 million cancer patients. Part of this can be blamed on poor availability of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease. 1 million cases are being added each year, with a chance of the disease rising five-fold, by 2025. ICMR has been urging the government to make it a notifiable disease, there is a high probability of treating cancer, if it is detected in stage 1 or stage 2. The reason as to why cancer is fatal, more often than not, is because, in India, detection is late, and even then, people have no access to necessary facilities. We neede many additional centers, for the effective detection and treatment of cancer.
Doctors say the causes of such a high incidence of cancer may be both internal like genetic, hormonal and poor immune conditions as well as external or environmental like food habits, industrialization, over growth of population and lifestyle. It is seen that the doctor patient ratio is very low in India, with patients losing out on quality healthcare, in the remote regions of this country. However, steps are being taken by the Government to improve the state of cancer care here. The central government will help the state and union territory governments in setting up State Cancer Institutes (SCI) and Tertiary Care Cancer Centres (TCCC). Hence, we see that cancer can afflict without prior warning, and, sadly, here in India, is detected in the later stages. We need to consolidate our healthcare majorly. Cancer-treatment specific centers, like the Cancer Healer Center, are needed. At the Cancer Healer Center, patients are treated holistically, which is why the center has a very high percentage of successful treatments. At Cancer Healer Center, the root cause of the disease is identified, and subsequently taken care of. There is only one final solution to the deadly disease. At the center, patients are given that solution:- Necessary treatment.
