Some believe that it reduces cancer risk while some go against this belief. Let’s understand these facts of Soy foods for a clear picture.
Soy – A diet packed with protein
Soy is loaded with protein that is essential for the proper functioning of the body. Foods like tofu, soy milk, Soybeans, etc. are crammed with protein, fiber, magnesium, potassium and other nutrients. It also contains essential amino acid that is a blessing for vegetarian people and people with food allergies.
Soy – Reduces the risk of certain cancers
Because it contains high amount fiber, it reduces the risk of colorectal cancer. It has been also seen in men with any stage of prostate cancer that regular consumption of soy milk has slowed down the rise in PSA levels.
Soy Increases the risk of breast cancer
Soy foods contain isoflavones, which is similar to estrogen. Therefore, people fear that it might raise the likelihood of breast cancer.
